The First State Bank & Trust Company Hometown Career Support Scholarship is funded by First State Bank & Trust Company. It was created to help those outstanding and talented students who plan to attend a post secondary vocational, trade or technical school in Nebraska or Midland University. We hope it will help to supply skilled persons to the Fremont area, reducing shortages in our local labor supply. The scholarship has a two part benefit. It provides funds for tuition, books and board and room during the learning years and a twelve month financial benefit should you decide to work for a Fremont area firm upon earning your degree.
Congratulations to the 2011 Recipients of the Hometown Support Scholarship

Linden Leopard & Bergan Branch of First State Bank & Trust Are Now Open
First State Bank & Trust Co. was pleased to have a successful grand opening of their newest "branch" - the Bergan Branch of First State Bank & Trust Company on Tuesday, October 19th. This branch joins the Linden Leopard Branch as the second Bank in School program in Fremont and the first parochial school program in the state. The branches provide elementary students the opportunity to not only learn about savings and how banks operate, but to become savers themselves. We are building a community of economists in Fremont and want these young people to become savvy savers.
The account opened in school are only active at their respective school branches. Withdrawals are only allowed when the student leaves the school or graduates from fifth grade. The Bergan bank is open to accept students’ deposits every Monday morning at 8 a.m., while the Linden bank is open every Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. Each deposit must be at least one dollar. Students have their own ledgers to record their deposits. In lieu of interest, children receive incentives provided by First State Bank & Trust when they make deposits into their savings accounts – based on consistent savings and amount of savings.
The bank is staffed by students from the fifth grade. They are joined by a teller and marketing liaison from First State Bank & Trust Co.
Students must have a signed permission slip by a parent or guardian on file in order to participate. Download a permission slip below so that your child can start saving!
